Winning Poker Network (WPN) will enable ScreenShield for all players, including Americas Cardroom users, from November 4, 2026. The decision extends a security measure previously applied to selected accounts following concerns about remote-access software on players’ devices.
The network said its investigation found no evidence of players using opponents’ hole-card information in more than 2,000,000 reviewed hands linked to devices where MeshAgent had been detected. WPN also stressed that detecting software capable of remote access or screen capture did not itself establish that a device had been compromised.
Approximately 200,000 of the reviewed hands belonged to Paul Gregg, whose play had drawn scrutiny from the high-stakes community. WPN reported no evidence that he could see opponents’ hole cards or used that knowledge on its network. It nevertheless closed his account based on broader investigative information and communication with other operators, treating that decision separately from the gameplay findings.
Players will retain control over screen capture
ScreenShield prevents protected table content from appearing through the screen-capture and screen-sharing methods it supports, while leaving the player’s own view and gameplay unchanged. Once automatic activation begins, users who need to stream, record sessions, create content, or receive coaching can disable the feature through its dedicated client setting.
Broader restrictions remain under consideration. WPN is evaluating whether to prohibit third-party software from being used alongside its poker client, weighing potential security benefits against disruption to legitimate player activities. The assessment has not resulted in a finalized ban.
The network has also shared implementation information with other online poker operators seeking to assess similar protection. WPN cautions that ScreenShield provides an additional security layer rather than protection against every possible threat to a player’s device.
